Keyboard is the dirtiest place that people use much frequently, and keeping it clean is not a gigantic task. Excessive dirt can even damage the keys of the keyboard. Basically, there are two types of keyboard- fixed (in Laptop) and portable( in PCs).
What you'll need-:
- Cotton Swab
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Lint free cloths (like Microfiber cloth)
OR
- Cleaning wipes (for Laptop keys)
Follow the mentioned steps carefully :
1. Unplug the keyboard from the desktop (if having Portable keyboard). Otherwise it would be better to clean keyboard when your system is disconnected from power supply.
2. Turn the keyboard upside-down gently, so that some static dust particles fall off.
3. Damp the cotton swab into rubbing alcohol and wipe out dust particles from the corners of each key.(A little time-consuming process)
4. Now again damp the lint free cloth (like Microfiber cloth) into rubbing alcohol and wipe the top of each key.
Fact-: In many Keyboard, we can remove the keys from the keyboard easily, that provides better cleaning facility as we can wash the keys from soap water and again place them back. (Check the keyboard manual before removing the keys)
5. Make sure that you clean your keyboard at least daily (if you are frequent user) otherwise once in 2-3days is also fine.
